30 years ago, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) burst onto the scene and steadily became one of the most common procedures in the lab. Advanced technologies have made it possible to achieve more accurate copies in a fraction of the time, no matter which of the several PCR-based methods you use. PCR is essential for a variety of key applications, including genetic diagnostics, forensic analysis, genetically modified crops, sequencing, detection of foodborne pathogens, and genealogy testing, to name a few. Failing to be up-to-date on the latest technology and techniques for fast, reliable PCR results is not an option!
