Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry and Natural Products

Phytochemistry is the study of phytochemicals, which are chemicals derived from plants. Those studying phytochemistry strive to describe the structures of the large number of secondary metabolic compounds found in plants, the functions of these compounds in human and plant biology, and the biosynthesis of these compounds. Pharmacognosy is the study of plants or other natural sources as a possible source of drugs. 2024 ISPE Aseptic Conference

March 12-13, 2024 | Austria

In the constantly evolving field of pharmaceutical manufacturing, the imperative to embrace new technologies and innovative strategies for process control and efficiency is more pressing than ever before. Recent advancements in aseptic processing, such as advanced isolators, robotics, and increased automation, have transformed the industry whilst simultaneously reducing the risks of contamination for sterile products. However, modern therapies - innovative, targeted treatments that result in small-batch aseptic products - require faster speeds to market and present unique sterilization and handling challenges. This dichotomy presents unique challenges for the industry to address. Moreover, the updated Annex 1 is impacting the manufacturing of sterile products, necessitating updated requirements such as Quality Risk Management, Contamination Control Strategy, and Data Management and Compliance for Computerized Systems. In light of these urgent needs, the 2024 ISPE Aseptic Conference will provide an ideal opportunity for participants to share progress, success stories, best practices, and lessons learned. Get ahead of the game with a focus on novel therapies, emerging technologies, and aseptic processing. We look forward to seeing you in Vienna, Austria!

Pharma 2024

April 16-18, 2024 | Spain

The world’s leading cross-functional event for pharma changemakers Pharma’s role within the healthcare system is weakening. Increased demand, economic strains, suffocating regulatory change and a widening access gap is impacting future pipelines and commercial innovations reaching patients. Siloed functions too often compete with each other instead of complement each other, failing to rally behind a common purpose. Internal forces need to come together to secure a future where better medicines support a value proposition that resonates with our patients, payers, policy makers, HTAs and customers. No one function can do this alone, we must act as one. That’s why over 1,200 of the world's leading pharma changemakers from commercial, marketing, medical affairs, patient engagement, market access, RWE, and digital health are gathering under one roof in Barcelona at Reuters Events: Pharma 2024. We will draw up a new blueprint to bridge and align internal workforces while rewriting pharma’s value proposition, cementing its role as an integral pillar of the healthcare system. At this event, together, we will become the trusted source for scientific information, transform digital potential into meaningful patient outcomes, adapt to the incoming JCA legislation and harness growing data sources that will deliver value to customers and growing patient population needs.
