Optimal-G Pro Robotic Gait Rehab System Unveiled
Medgadget | January 24, 2019
Motorika, a company out of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, is introducing its Optimal-G Pro robotic walking rehabilitation system at the American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sessions Meeting this week in Washington DC. The device helps to train the walking gait of people who have suffered from a variety of neurological, neuromuscular, and other injuries. It does so by having the legs strapped into the robotic component and the so-called Enhanced Learning Intelligence TEchnology (ELITE) adjusts the assistance it provides depending on each patient’s needs. The patient is constantly monitored using front and side cameras, which gives therapists a clear look at each patient’s walking style and ability. The firm claims that the robot can match each person’s natural walking movements and therefore not feel restrictive.
