Sale would be through open competitive bidding to government agencies. The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister has approved the sale of surplus land of Hindustan Antibiotics (HAL), Indian Drugs & Pharmaceuticals (IDPL), Rajasthan Drugs & Pharmaceuticals (RDPL) and Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals (BCPL), as would be required, to meet their outstanding liabilities.
