How to Safely Dispose of Prescription Drugs

Medications are important in the treatment of illness. When left sitting around unused, prescription drugs can also pose a significant danger. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services estimates that 93 percent of all unintentional poisoning deaths are from medications or other drugs. When prescription drugs are no longer needed, you need to dispose of them in a safe manner. The best way to do this is by taking them to a prescription drop box or other medication take-back program in your area.

Cancer Drugs Bring in Most Pharma Revenue

This is according to a report recently released by consultancy Evaluate, which analyses trends in the pharmaceutical sector. According to Evaluate's calculations, oncology drugs reached US$123.8 billion in sales in 2018, more than double that of the next item on the list, drugs treating diabetes with US$48.5 billion dollars in sales. By 2024, cancer drug sales are expected to almost double to US$236.6 billion dollars.
