New research suggests that adults over the age of 40 who engage in leisurely physical activity such as dancing, gardening, or going for a walk for even a short amount of time each week may have a lower risk of death from multiple causes. Previous research has shown that engaging even in low-level physical activity including leisurely tasks, such as gardening may help protect brain health and cardiovascular health, among other benefits.
